Art Therapy

Art therapy is founded on the belief that being creative is healing and life affirming.

I trained at Kutenai Art Therapy Institute in Nelson, BC. My thesis “Finding Meaning in the Pain: Art Therapy with People Experiencing Chronic Pain” was based on a program of group art therapy that I developed for people with chronic pain. After graduating, my work has primarily been with high-risk youth and children with autism.

I have a small private practice in Vancouver, Canada, and I am a professional member of the BC Association of Art Therapists. Please feel free to contact me about private client sessions and my professional services.

On a broader scale, I bring an art therapy approach to my other projects. Both the Swap-o-rama-rama and the East Van Revolutionary Knitting Front have the aspect of healing on a community level embedded in their rationale. I prepare the space, bring the materials, and support participants as they create.
